About us

Sisters, Alexandra and Nicole, were born and raised between Miami and Colombia by a family with deep roots in art and design. Spending much of their lives traveling extensively throughout Europe and especially Italy (where they both got married), and the Bahamas (their home-away-from-home) - they have cultivated an international design sensibility and a roster of design resources that has brought depth and texture to their homes and dinner tables. Influenced by their mother, grandmothers, and aunts, Alexandra and Nicole come from a legacy of designers, collectors, and connoisseurs of the arts that has informed their aesthetic and made them the scrupulous hostesses they are today.

Alexandra worked as a graphic and package designer in New York City for the last 13 years, for companies such as Estee Lauder and FutureBrand, until eventually launching her own company, Imarka Design. Alexandra recently returned to live with her husband and three children in Miami. Influenced by her travels, her design education, and raising her Franco-American family, Alexandra enjoys hosting her friends and family at home around a well conceived table, where the decor is undoubtedly better than her cooking. Alexandra’s table is often better-dressed than she is…but not by much.

Nicole is based in New York City and works in hotel development. She started her career in publishing at Travel & Leisure magazine, worked for Belmond Hotels, then with Ace Hotels before venturing on her own to start NMH Creative where she works on hotel development in Latin America. Nicole is a passionate chef who loves baking and cooking gluten-rich pasta dinners in Italian made pans from Sardel, her husband’s cookware company. She is passionate about hosting family and friends in her home in Brooklyn that she shares with her husband and their dog Rigatoni, Toni for short. Nicole is also a classically trained astrologer, which is just one of her many dinner party tricks.
