Rebecca Gardner
Founder, House & Parties
What do you do?
I am an event and interior designer...with a retail shop. It's all Houses & Parties.
What china pattern or dinnerware do you use at home?
I love my full set of Oriente in Vermigio. It is a wonderful pink palette that goes with anything, really, anything.
What is your favorite glassware?
I have a set of Salviati inspired wine goblets. They are so elegant and thin - they make the cheapest wine taste expensive.
What are your go to table linens for hosting?
I am a linen hoarder with a dedicated armoire for my collection. I use these striped dinner napkins and matching placemats all the time. I have a matching apron. The stripe is casual and the thickness is luxurious.
What is your go to flatware?
I use my grandmother's sterling Repousse everyday. A little effort goes a long way. I'm grateful to the silver polishing truck who makes rounds on Wednesdays in Savannah.
What is your favorite tableware accessory, if you have one?
I love to serve cold colorful soups and scoops of ice cream in a cream soup with charming little handles.
What is on your dinner party playlist?
Pink Martini, always.
What is your go-to menu or something that people go wild for?
No one is a vegetarian if you serve pigs in a blanket with cocktails, I promise. I like to serve simple and delicious food for dinner - fried chicken, pot pies, beef bourguignon.
What is your drink of choice?
I drink lots of Sancerre on a glass full of ice cubes.
What’s your favorite home or table goods store?
My online shop, housesandparties.com is my favorite shop to make occassions memorable. All of my best treasures for my house came from KRB which is in New York and online. Kate Brodsky makes no mistakes.
You can’t entertain without?
Lots of wine and candles.
The host/hostess gift you want to receive?
A sincere thank you note.
Is there anything else you want our followers to know?
I am opening a holiday shop at the Carlyle hotel from Dec 2 - 11. Get ready.
